a canadian adventure

Truth: I've lived in Washington for most of my life and had never been to Canada.  That is, until this weekend.

We were lucky enough to spend a long weekend exploring Kootenay National Park in British Columbia with my brother and sister-in-law (Joe's oldest sister and her husband) and their adorable kids!  And because I'm always of the opinion that pictures are better than words, here's a snapshot of our much-needed get-away.

radium hot springs... nice and toasty on a cool day!  surrounded by the gorgeous mountains on all sides.
water fights are a must
a nice nap in the hot sun- also a must
joe and his buddy noah
a bike ride to the beach
the whole gang taking a little stroll around a pretty lake. possibly a miracle that we're all looking at the camera ( :
we did lots of hiking!
my favorite hike was to marble creek canyon... we could see the creek a couple hundred feet below by standing on several bridges over top of it.
our cabin had this nice campfire pit in the backyard!
my pal elle belly stylin with my shades.  love that girl and her hilarious one-liners.
our favorite carrot-head micah hiking with joe
skipping rocks at the beach
we call them the birthday buddies... they all have the same birthday!
elle again
love those snow-capped rocky mountains surrounding the lake.  i definitely miss those from utah.
quote 2 seconds prior to this picture:  "i have mallow mustache!  mallow mustache!"  he must have had 8 marshmallows and loved every gooey second of it.
and our view from the back deck.  as they say in canada, "not bad, eh?"
Oh how i wanted to stay on that porch soaking up the sun forever.   Until next time, Canada!

love, the hills

  2. Fun! That looks beautiful! Make sure you only go in the summer time... then you'll still love soaking in the sun. If you go any other time, you may soak up the sun, but your cheeks may be the only thing that is uncovered comfortably :)
