Well summer is here and... almost over. I am really missing the days when summer meant an entire three months of being completely free of any and all obligations and just sleeping, swimming, and soaking up the sun. That's what happens when you're a working woman, I suppose. But luckily I was able to take a week off from being a busy working woman and just relax with my long lost husband! Yes, he's all done with his 5 week internship and all done with living two hours away from me. So spending an entire week together driving 22ish hours was exactly what we needed to do a little catch-up. Here's our Utah vacation in pictures...
| We spent a day in Provo, catching up with old friends and admiring the library we no longer have to study in. Oh, and we made a pit stop at the park where we got engaged... 3 years ago to the DAY! We only realized that as we were walking up to the park! Cue creepy music. |
| We got to spend plenty of time with Joe's two younger brothers, Paul- who just returned from his mission to Fiji, and Tom- who is a stud, and wore the exact same shirt MY little brother wore when we saw him just a week before this picture. Cue more creepy music. |
| Me and da boys. We all went on a hike at Antelope Island. |
| A pretty view of the Great Salt Lake at Antelope Island! |
| After our hike we decided to mark an item off our bucket list and swim in the Great Salt Lake. There were about a million nasty little bugs, but it was actually really fun anyway. We all thought it was crazy how easily you float in saltwater, and Paul insisted that it is good for your skin, so win-win! |
| We made a trip one day to see the new City Creek Center mall in Salt Lake. We were easily entertained by the cool water fountains and tried to figure out how anyone could pay $1800 for a coat. Needless to say, this was definitely a "window-shopping-only" mall. |
| To make up for dragging Joe with me to the mall, I went to a shooting range with him and his dad and brother. And, I outshot them all. Here's me with my proof. |
| Finally, we soaked up as much time with this guy as we possibly could. Here's Joe with our 10 month old nephew Drew at the Davis County Rodeo. Until next time Utah! | | | | |
And where are the pictures of when you came to visit the Fairall's? We miss you guys so next time to come to town, we'll have to see if we can get on your agenda! Does it help that we have a super cute little girl that loves to be held? (A little bribe couldn't hurt right?) But seriously, next time you're in town, call us up!
ReplyDeleteYou were TOTALLY on our list to come visit....but you had also had a baby like less than a week before we came. So we figured you guys were a bit busy. But I promise we thought about you guys :) we may be down for thanksgiving...so maybe then? It's really too bad Utah is so far away because I would love to see that adorable addition of yours!!!
ReplyDeleteCall us when you come, we'll be here for Thanksgiving!
